Bert Van Manen is an Australian politician and a member of the House of Representatives since the 2010 federal election, representing the Division of Forde. He was born in Brisbane to Dutch immigrants and educated at various schools in the area. He worked as a bank officer for 15 years and then ran his own financial advisory business from 1999 to 2010. He co-founded Vangrove Financial Planning in 2007 but resigned as director in 2012 when the firm collapsed with debts of $1.5 million.

Van Manen was the Family First Party candidate in the seat of Rankin in the 2007 federal election and received 3.53% of the primary vote. He won the Division of Forde from the Australian Labor Party incumbent Brett Raguse in the 2010 federal election and has retained his seat at subsequent elections.

Van Manen has held various positions in parliamentary committees, including the Joint Statutory Committee on Law Enforcement, Joint Standing Committee on Law Enforcement, House of Representatives Standing Committee on Law Enforcement, and House of Representatives Select Committee on Law Enforcement. He was appointed Government Whip in August 2016 and has been the party’s chief whip in the House of Representatives since July 2019.

Van Manen is a member of the Liberal National Party of Queensland and sits with the Liberal Party in federal parliament. He is affiliated with the centre-right faction of the party. He is married and has two sons and is on the board of the Dunamis International College of Bible Ministries, which was revealed in his maiden speech.
